One of the most noticed Japanese art photographers, Ryundai Takano was born in Fukui in 1963. In 1987, he graduated from the School of Political Science and Economics, Waseda University. In 2006, he won the 31st Kimura Ihei Commemorative Photography Award with the work "In my room"; has published some books: "How to contact a man", "Para-Para", "Ryiudai Takano 1993-1996", his pictures have been shown overseas as well as in Japan.
