Blueboy magazine started out of Washington D.C. in 1974 under the name Blue Boy edited by Don Westbrook (Donald N. Embinder). It moved to Miami the following year and changed the name to Blueboy. By the early 1980's it moved to Los Angeles and published monthly by Global Media. First published in California in January 1974, the magazine was originally advertised as a gay version of Playboy or Penthouse. "Blueboy" (The national magazine about men) in addition to sexy nude guys in softcore images, every issue typically included articles about fashions, sex, television and film reviews, politics (Reagan Administration) and gay rights (Harvey Milk), fiction and the secrets for a true love and picking up strangers. Typical articles concerned social climbing, the latest fashions, picking up strangers, television and film reviews, and the secrets of love. In the 1990's it came under heavy competition from glossy lifestyle magazines like Out, so it started focusing more on pornographic images cutting out most of its non-porn content. It ceased publication in 2008. Blueboy, 10,8x8,3 inches, about 80 pages, initially $3.

Published in 2006, "League of their Own" is a fantastic calendar featuring Australian's Rugby rugby league players totally naked for a good cause, including Michael Witt and Liam Fulton. The photos were taken by the Australian celebrity photographer Pedro Virgil. Proceeds from the sales went to the Koori Kids foundation, an organization that uses sport to assist indigenous and non-indigenous Australian children living in rural and remote areas to achieve their goals and dreams in life.
